SHANDOAH GOLDMAN, M.A
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR \ CHOREOGRAPHER
Canadian/American Choreographer Shandoah Goldman is the founder and artistic director of Carte Blanche Performance. Her collaborative choreographic practice fuses dance with location, sound, video, theatre and brands. She holds a B.A. from Bennington College, M.A. from London Contemporary Dance School. Her work has been presented at Joyce Soho, Wassaic Festival, Ailey CitiGroup Theatre, S.L.A.M warehouse, The World Financial Center, Anita's Way, Spoke the Hub, Wild Project, Fourth Arts Block, WestFest, Figment, Dumbo Dance Festival, Studio A.I.R, Rabbithole, Center for Performance Research, Dixon Place, Gowanus Art & Production, The Brick, PS21, ACME Studios, Pioneer Works, Abrons Art Center, The Greenwood Cemetery, Roulette, The NY Transit Museum, The High Line, Queens Museum, Grounds for Sculpture, Insitu site specific festival as well as international venues, Tangente/Montreal, Studio 303/Montreal, The Place/London, Liverpool International Improvisation festival, Hirokoshi Shrine/Japan, Stockholm Museum of Modern Art. Residencies include Inverernes (Scotland) Pioneer Works (Brooklyn), The Field (Earth Dance), chashama (NYC), Art Omi (Ghent NY) & Residencias del Sur in Buenos Aires. Her project, 23 Skidoo, premiered New York Foundation for the Arts Bootstrap Festival, as well as a large scale site-specific production at NYC's Flatiron building involving forty-two performers and an audience of over five hundred people. An excerpt from 23 Skidoo was included in the Documentary, The Flatiron. Dance film collaborations, include La Musica de Siempre, a music video which went on tour with Paris based music ensemble, Gotan Project. She is the recipient of several Canada council for the arts grants.
